St Andrew’s Cathedral is the oldest Anglican site of worship in Singapore. While much is known about the cathedral’s existing building, relatively little is known about the previous church building, which had its first foundation stone laid on Monday 9th November 1835.

It was built in 1158 and became the centre of the Medieval Catholic Church in Scotland as the seat of the Archdiocese of St Andrews and the Bishops and Archbishops of St Andrews.
Saint Andrew's Cathedral is one of Singapore’s few surviving examples of English Neo-Gothic architecture. Its belfry, with lancet-shaped windows and elegant spires, resembles that of the famous Salisbury Cathedral in England.
