Jan 4, 2017 · Abbott announced in January 2017 that it had acquired St. Jude Medical, a medical device company, to expand its portfolio and leadership in the cardiovascular market. The acquisition also brought new products and technologies to address atrial fibrillation, heart failure, structural heart and chronic pain.
