A Journey of Compassion. The Turning Point was born in a humble rented single-storey bungalow at Meng Suan Road, founded by two wonderful Sisters-in-Christ, Ms. Florence Ng and Ms. Khew Swee Ling. They selflessly sacrificed their careers to provide a haven for homeless women from the streets.
When they first began, the founders of The Turning Point – Singapore’s only all-women halfway house – had struggled to even imagine lasting for five years. In the 1970s and 1980s, there had been at least three attempts by capable women to set up a female halfway house.
