That is the new "Office" <cr>applet. It only starts the Online version of the applications. Ignore the Install button on the Office application.

I hope these are not Sharepoint documents. A quick repair should reset the association right. Press Windows key, hold it and press r to open Run window. Type appwiz.cpl and press enter. This will open Uninstall or change a program window. Click Office in the list of program. Click Change at top.

Cant use microsoft word online. I had a issue with microsoft word online where I cant open my documents or create a new document. I does load but it stucked at the loading screen with the word logo and stopped loading. I tried restarting my laptop, re-log in, but non of those works.
Aug 7, 2020 · Before performing the repair, would suggest also removing the <Word> icon from the Taskbar and Desktop (if you have it there) To complete the repair. #1 - Open Control Panel --> Programs. #2 - Select Office 2019 --> <Change> --> Select <Online Repair> --> this takes longer but is a comprehensive fix. Jul 18, 2018 · In that case, go to the Windows > Settings > Apps dialog and look for two entries for Microsoft Office, one for Office 365 and one for your other version. If they're both there, uninstall Office 365. Then repair the older version to fix the registry entries that belong to it. I am having the same problem with my new laptop.
Replied on February 7, 2022. Report abuse. If you are in the Online (browser) version of Word, it does not have access to Newspaper style columns under the Layout tab. You can, though, insert a table with the requisite number of columns under the Insert tab. Volunteering to "pay forward" the help I've received in the Microsoft user community.
Oct 7, 2020 · You'll have to use the Edit In Word command to open the document in desktop Word, create the text box (es), and then return to Word Online. Shapes, charts, text boxes, SmartArt, WordArt. These display in the document as expected in Reading view. In Editing view they appear as placeholders that you can delete but not edit.
