Sep 4, 2018 · I find Xero + GoCardless + payment reminders is good enough for most people., and for my needs also. If you need to do anything else just extract the report to excel. if you need some automation to the collection process and something more than the above add CHaser into the mix which will automate the chasing process until paid.
Jan 29, 2014 · Totally agree. Xero are growing too fast IMO and growth for sake of growth is never a good thing. Get the basics right folks at Xero such as the issues noted above, then focus on add-ons, work papers, practice management etc.

Jun 12, 2019 · Unless things have changed in the past 12 months (which is possible), no such tool exists and as stated above, Xero don't have a solution, so short of downloading each individual invoice / receipt, the documents appear to be stuck in xero.

Nov 20, 2019 · Xero calls payments on account "overpayments". Yes they have been moaned about this. If you post correctly they appear on the statements and when you post invoices you can allocate the money received in advance. Us, our clients and I assume 500,000 businesses using Xero have no major problems with the Xero sales ledger and purchase ledger.
Jul 29, 2022 · Far from intuitive, granted, but that code tells Xero that the amount is actually reclaimable VAT and not simply a payment of a liability. Fairly obviously it is used when you make a separate direct payment on importing, but also when you pay the VAT to a garage and the main costs are paid by the insurance company
Jan 15, 2024 · A client has asked me if they can run mutiple limited companies through a single Xero account. The companies are all in one corporate group, and they have suggested that 'departments' can be used to label transactions for each company, and then a trial balance can be run at year end for each company in order to file accounts.
Aug 11, 2022 · Whilst I use xero for a couple of ltd co clients, I'm not sure how flexible or robust it is for charity accounting/reporting. Particularly with accounting for restricted/unrestricted funds and getting info out for SORP reporting.
