  1. Back inside BSL's settings, set your shadow distance to a number 100 from 120. This tells how far away it shows shadows, and any further than 120 is pointless. Also, make sure your shadows are not too high res, there isn't much difference in having extreme ultra high res shadows to having just high res shadows.

  2. Sep 20, 2020 · Yes, BSL shaders are nice, but too bright. Go to the shaders options and then find "color" go to lightning color and now you can change lightning brightness at current time of day. REMEMBER that you have to change the light intensity, not the color, otherwise the light will be in a completely different color

  3. Jan 14, 2022 · I came across same problem. Water can be identified easily in vanilla. But in BSL it is like water. I changed thwe water color in Options > Video settings > Shaders > Shader options > Color > Water color. My values are Red = 0; Green = 0; Blue = 255 ; Intensity = 0.80; Alpha = 0.50. It looks significantly better with the bluish color.

SEUS feels more average and pleasing to the eyes, the sun doesn't look like a deadly laser beam, but there is too much contrast between dark shadows and light sources.

  6. Jul 11, 2021 · It also tries to stay close to vanilla so it’s easier to get used to and don’t have to guess what is what. Your eyes will also thank you since Misa tries to reduce eyestrain with darker colors and less noise. She uses BSL but with her own settings.

  9. Jan 10, 2023 · I'm running MC 1.19.3, with Iris 3.0.1 and Complementary v4 shaders, and I have all ores glowing by default. It's handled entirely in the shader (I only have sodium and iris as mods with fabric in that install).
