I've gone on the Microsoft store to see if I can get it but it just asks me to buy it. The Minecraft launcher just gives me the options of free trials

May 11, 2024 · I’m pleased to confirm that the offer to obtain Minecraft Java for free if you already have Bedrock is indeed still available. As of June 7, 2022, all players who own either the Java Edition or Bedrock Edition will receive the other edition they do not currently own for free, directly in the Minecraft Launcher.

Apr 16, 2023 · you need to log into the same account you downloaded the phone version of minecraft in, also check that the installer says: minecraft for windows, if you did not use an account to play minecraft, im afraid you cant get in.

I'm aware an email was sent out but I never could find this email and when I hover over Minecraft windows edition the following "You already own Bedrock, Get Java Edition as a bonus!" message appears.
