They are full of false promises. Lancaster like to tell you how good they are but the reality is it is not a good uni and prospective employers see a degtee gained here as low currency. Do your homework and visit the better uni's such as Cambridge, Oxford,LSE or Kings for example.
The social life is pretty good. There are student nights every night of the week either in Lancaster or at the Carleton in Morecambe. As it is a campus university, some of the biggest club nights run buses direct from campus to save you needing a taxi. Reply 10. 13 years ago.

Aug 22, 2023 · if you analyse the 2023 spread of results compared to 2022 then section 1 was almost the same, section 2 was a bit lower this year on average and section 3 was almost the same so the chances are the cut off of 11.8 will be pretty similar unless there is a dramatic increase or decrease in the calibre of students who applied to lancasters vs last year. i got 12.3A so lets just hope that the cut ...
Feb 2, 2022 · 1) York's uni is closer to the city than Lancaster. This is true. Both accessible by bus from campus, but York has the edge by a few mins on the bus. 2) York's got more clubbing scene than Lancaster . This is also true, although Lancaster still has 3 clubs and copious amount of bars.
Lancaster University is located approximately 3 miles south of Lancaster City Centre. There are regular buses and a walking/cycle path that will take you directly from campus into the city. The City of Lancaster is around 70 miles from Manchester’s International Airport.

Jun 1, 2023 · It seems that Bowland Hall and County’s John Creed building offer the cheapest en-suite accommodation on campus currently. “Rooms in Bowland Hall cost between £153.37 and £177.59 per week depending on the facilities provided (those priced higher offer a wider "3/4 size" bed and soft seating in the kitchen/diner).
Lancaster is a bit further out from the city iirc, whereas York is walkable to. Both are very highly regarded universities with a *little* rivalry between them (roses is AWESOME) so either one's a good pick English is quite highly regarded at York but there's a huge range of students here, if you want to know more about the english side of the course pm me (I know a bit about the joint honours ...
