BUT, per the 2007 edition of NFPA 13, you can OMIT the hoistway sprinkler under certain conditions. Paragraph 8.15.5.5 of the 2007 edition of NFPA 13 tells you how to omit the hoistway sprinkler.

So the mat footing for shear wall raises above the original building foundation. I plan to attach the shear wall into orginal building column but will have different footing.
