The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) was formed as a statutory board under the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources (MEWR) on 1 April 2019 to oversee food safety and food security from farm-to-fork. MEWR has been renamed as the Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment (MSE).
As the national authority for food safety in Singapore, SFA has put in place an effective integrated food safety system to ensure that food is safe for consumption. However, no system is foolproof without the collaboration of the industry and consumers in Singapore.
