If not, you can go into "C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\Opera Software" and "C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\Opera Software" and rename the "Opera Stable" (or "Opera GX Stable") folder to "Opera Stable old" (or "Opera GX Stable old"). That way, you can test from scratch in Opera to test if that helps.
Mar 1, 2022 · also, there's a folder containing all old opera gx versions, taking roughly 1 GB. You can delete them.
Jan 10, 2022 · used opera gx for about 6 months before switching to edge. pros can customize the look of the browser - best native dark mode. but you can just install dark reader. -best native new tab page. but you can just install nightTab. - opera desktop and opera mobile are a powerful combination. flow is awsome. but you can just get pocket.
Dec 17, 2023 · Opera GX is fine being limited to 4 GB of RAM and 33% of my processor usage. I don't feel that while using it, but my games absolutely do. I no longer have to fuss about closing my browser or putting stuff away so that I don't lose my work if I decide to play a game and that's a pretty nice quality of life feature.
Mar 6, 2023 · For instance the 'scrolling tabs' feature from base Opera is nowhere to be found in GX, which is a pretty convenient feature for someone who likes to keep a lot of tabs open but doesn't want to be staring at a whole bunch of extremely small widgets for every tab. Additionally, the 'Show tabs from the same domain in tab tooltip' feature straight up doesn't work for me in GX.
Apr 25, 2020 · I went into the installation folders and just renamed all the .exe files to some similar name (opera_autoupdate.exe -> opera_updater.exe). I tried that and that didn't really work either. I had read elsewhere while looking around that it seemed to happen to some people's Opera GX when they got a new update, so I just decided to uninstall and install an older version.

May 22, 2020 · For bookmarks, goto the URL opera://bookmarks and use the drop-down at the bottom-left of the page to export your bookmarks as an HTML file. Then, you should be able to import the file into Edge ( the new Chromium-based Edge at least) via the 3 dots on the edge://bookmarks page.
