  1. Jun 21, 2023 · Qwant is a good search engine that holds the ranks with other popular privacy-engines like DuckDuckGo, Startpage, and SearX. It indexes Bing results, so your experience on it will likely be similar to your experience on Bing or DuckDuckGo (which also indexes Bing). I hope this helped, have a great rest of your day.

  2. May 10, 2022 · I’ve tried Qwant for around a week just last month, didn’t like it. Tried SearX and it was decent, Startpage is nice but the constant bs with captchas made me leave it. DDG is a no from me since their questionable recent past with censorship etc. So currently using Brave Search without any issues.

  3. Axel Springer only has a 20% stake in Qwant, and they don't seem to force any operational decisions on them. Qwant is an independent search engine, having its own algorithms and index. DDG is essentially a meta search engine which at its core still depends on Google.

  4. Oct 5, 2022 · The general search engine accessible at Qwant.com allows users to find, among the web pages referenced by Qwant, content and web addresses (URLs) corresponding to the keywords entered. I really wanted to love Qwant, as it's a Fre'nch search engine that claims to be privacy friendly. But the results are very clonky sometimes. How come I search for something simple, like Redmi Note 11, and it gives me search results about Redmi Note 10S, 9, even 8 BEFORE 11 ?! Sorry Qwant, but you need to fix some stuff before I'll give another ...

  6. Jun 9, 2022 · When I saw these design changes on the tablet, I first thought my Android Vivaldi browser was broken. After that, I tested the search engine on Brave and Firefox as well, even on Windows and unfortunately found out that it wasn't my browsers fault. Is there any way to get the old design back? Or is it possible to complain directly to Qwant?

  7. Dec 15, 2021 · It’s a perfectly decent search engine, and in the rare case that you need Google results specifically you just need to append !g to the end of your search. You can do this with sooooo many websites. !yt does a direct YouTube search, !w does a Wikipedia search which often goes straight to an article, !tw searches Twitter, among many many more sites.

  8. May 10, 2022 · I moved away from the Google search engine and looked at alternatives, search engines which are at least somewhat more private. In my closer selection came Qwant, Brave Search, Startpage and Swisscows. All four are supposed to be decent in terms of privacy and data processing, according to initial research.

  9. SearXNG, a metasearch engine. SearX, and its successor SearXNG, pull results from many different search engines and sources, and try to show them all to you in one singular and centralized search page. I have found that this is great for research, but is often pretty inaccurate when it comes to actually finding what I'm looking for.

  10. Aug 21, 2018 · Eventually, I turned over to Microsoft's Bing. Being the preferred search engine for MS Edge*, I seems to have little disappointment with it. However, I found out about Qwant and it does interest me since they say that the search results do come from Bing.
