May 17, 2018 · So I want to know why my folders are marked with a red cross. And, of course, correct it. Inside the folders instead of the green checks, I have blue clouds as icons. I want to keep my files and sync them w/o losing nothing. Please help me -- I really don't understand cloud storage when it doesn't work.

This red X means that Outlook is offline, or not connected. You can go to the Menu >> Tab: Send/Receive, now in the option >> Work offline >> Disable, by clicking on this option.
Oct 1, 2016 · The red "x"'s indicated the new files which were not being backed up. To fix this, go into Google "Backup and Sync" application preferences which can be found by clicking the backup and sync icon task bar. Unclick the icons next to the desktop documents and pictures icons.
