I choose plants which require little light so that what light comes in from the window is sufficient. Pothos or Philodendrins are good plants to have. As far as misting, I never mist anything.

Most nurseries or suppliers of plants use pesticides and fertilizers which can potentially be toxic to your spiders. I hope you did so with your bromeliad. Find a light bulb that emits light at 6500 kelvin or close to it.

  4. Oct 16, 2021 · Jumping spiders do not even need substrate. If you want to put some coco fiber down thats fine, but aside from high humidity species, most jumpers don't need it. Yes and I haven't kept too many dryer species, I have 3 different kinds but I've noticed that my P. regius definitely need substrate to maintain humidity.

They require low light and really don’t need to be watered everyday ( although they can) more like once or twice a week. What I do is cut a stem off , rinse it for a minute or 2, and then plant it.

Jul 24, 2022 · 403. you need holes in both sides, for cross ventilation for jumping spiders. unfortunately that means using anything glass is a big pain. if you want to DIY its easier to use a plastic container. in fact there are plastic mason jars oftentimes now. i use food cannisters or amac containers from the container store.

Aug 13, 2024 · I'm thinking of adding either peat moss or sphagnum moss (or a different moss, whatever's safest for Gus) and the plants I'm considering are Bromeliads, Golden Pothos (Epipremnum aureum), Spider plant (Chlorophytum comosum), and Tillandsia (air plants). I'm also more than happy to use fake plants if that would be best.
