Sep 23, 2018 · The 1990 first film in the series, The Hunt for Red October, was shot on good old 35 mm film, and the film has been rescanned and mastered in 4K, which has been used here for this Ultra HD Blu-ray release. The disc presents a native 3840 x 2160p resolution image in the film's original theatrical aspect ratio of widescreen 2.4:1.
Nov 10, 2011 · The Hunt for Red October comes to UK Region Free Blu-ray nearly three-and-a-half-years after it was originally released in the US, and yet sporting what appears to be exactly the same generally very good video presentation: a 1080p High Definition rendition in the movie’s original theatrical aspect ratio of 2.35:1 widescreen.

Thanks for the review Cas,my fav of this series,for some reason on my setup it didn't go into 4K UHD mode when i first play it,but got their in the end,but it did make me see the big difference in P/Q,this is a really good upgrade.
