  5. Jan 29, 2019 · Plus there are plenty of “christmassy” jazz type songs where you could find saxes playing the melody since most of them were written in the 20’s with a heavy jazz influence.   8. Ryuichi Sakamoto is a Japanese composer. He is a hugely influential figure in Japanese music. Inspiring a lot of pop/electronic/and even video game soundtracks. In the early 80's he did the soundtrack for a film called "Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence", (the film stars David Bowie).
