Denis Defforey, né le 7 juillet 1925 à Lagnieu et mort le 6 février 2006 à Genève en Suisse [1], [2], est le cofondateur, l'actionnaire et un dirigeant du célèbre groupe de distribution français Carrefour. Il est inhumé à Vaux-en-Bugey près de Lagnieu [3]. Il est l'oncle d'Antoine de Galbert.

Denis Defforey was a food wholesaler who partnered with Marcel Fournier, a novelties shop owner, to create Carrefour in 1959. They opened the first hypermarket in France in 1963 and launched the iconic Carrefour logo.
