Howard the Duck is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character was created by writer Steve Gerber, based very loosely on his college friend Howard Tockman, [ 1 ] and artist Val Mayerik.
Plot. Howard the Duck lives on Duckworld, a planet similar to Earth but inhabited by anthropomorphic ducks. One night, his armchair propels him out of his apartment building and into outer space; Howard lands on Earth, in Cleveland, Ohio.
Born on Duckworld, Howard the semi-humanoid duck grows up a mediocre loner. Then, he’s forcibly pulled to Earth-616 by mystical means! Cynical and argumentative, this furious fowl tries to fit in, eventually finding work as a peevish private eye.
