Nov 23, 2013 · Well Islam grew up training with Khabib under his father. And in Dagestan, they tend to cross train a lot before specializing. While Khabib has put on Judo clinics and there are photos of him wearing his black belt...so I would imagine the same for Islam holding the same rank. However, their major titles come from Sambo.

Dec 9, 2023 · Islam already 30-27'd him with food poisoning, and Arman has since lost to Gamrot and won a LNP split decision and nearly got subbed twice in his last fight. Islam could always make a mistake or zig the wrong way or have a bad camp or a bad cut, but he beats Arman 9/10 times, so Arman is just hoping this is the 1/10.

Oct 28, 2019 · I'm hoping that Islam Makhachev and Usman Nurmagomedov are the bait that brings Khabib back. I'm sure that his mother worries when he fights, but parents often change their minds about what they allow their kids to do when they see how much it matters to their kids. I think he could get her permission to fight again at some point in the future.

I'd say it'd be a very good fight but I think Shavkat maintains his 100% submission--tko wins vs Islam. Though idk, let's see how Islam fares without having to cut weight, it may make his takedowns easier with more muscle mass.
