Welcome to Keble. With more than 800 bright and curious students, Keble is one of the biggest colleges at the University of Oxford. We’ve been around since 1870, and have been challenging the way things are done at Oxford since the beginning.
Keble College has come a long way since its opening in 1870. The first Oxford College of the modern era, it was founded in memory of John Keble (1792-1866), well known for his best-selling Christian verse and a key member of the so-called ‘Oxford’ movement.

Keble College is situated on the northern edge of Oxford city centre, just off Banbury Road and the northern end of St Giles. It is opposite the University science area and the University Parks. Our graduate quad, The H B Allen Centre, is a 5 minute walk north of the main site.

At the heart of our worship is the beautiful music of Keble Choir, one of Oxford’s best known vocal ensembles. They sing at the three main Chapel services each week: The College Eucharist (Sundays 5.30pm) is the main service of the week, with hymns, choral music, and a thought-provoking talk.
Jan 10, 2024 · College Members eat together in Keble’s magnificent Dining Hall. A buffet-style breakfast, lunch and dinner are served during term time, with brunch at weekends. There are also special dining occasions, such as formal Hall and guest nights.
Keble College offers something unique in Oxford. The new H B Allen Centre has – we reckon – the best college graduate facilities in the University. And there’s the magnificent main site too.
Part of the University of Oxford, Keble College offers a unique setting for conferences and events of all shapes and sizes as well as 320 bedrooms. The main College site on Parks Road was opened in 1870 and is characterised by its distinctive red brick architecture.
So at Keble College we don’t expect intelligence to come in any particular shape or form. We’re looking for future students who are inquisitive, passionate, original and determined to grow – no matter what school you went to, how much money you have, what gender you are, or how you like to learn.
