Edit: But, if Costa has no injury and actually trained fully knowing he wont make weight Vettori's facing the fully hydrated, without the cruelty of a water cut, Costa. The full power at 205. That scenario is bad for Vettori.
Feb 2, 2013 · Costa is a pullout merchant and already fulfilled his "one fight per decade" quota. Imavov or Hermansson are more likely to show up, but all three of those men would constitute fighting backwards for Brendan whereas Marvin represents a chance to slide into the Top 5. Allen had to defend his ranking in his last two fights as it is.
Oct 22, 2021 · Vettori is not doing the smart thing and saved the fight. I hope it works out for him. He is saving a large chunk of his paycheck though. If he walks away from the fight - even for legit reasons - he *might* get his show money but that's all he'll get after a training camp and a weight cut to boot. Nov 30, 2020 · People hype him because he took Adesanya to split decision in his second UFC fight. He's a journeyman that'll probably peak at top 5. He's not good enough to become a champ. "Journeyman" and "top 5" don't belong in the same sentence. 99.999% of fighters won't become champions ever, that doesn't make them journeyman.

Curtis has officially been taken down 0 times in 6 UFC Fights. But Vettori has fought better guys and more guys that want to take him down than Curtis has.
