Click Assign the following drive letter. Click in the Drive letter list box. Choose a drive letter - try choosing letters near the end of the alphabet.

The (pass protected) wd CD Drive Unlocker works fine & the icon appears, but the actual drive icon does not. Other than that it works as usual. Jan 7, 2012 · I have a WD My Passport which comes up as 'F' drive. I use this for backing up music & photos etc. It appears to be no longer working and it asks me to format it, which I have tried and windows is unable to do this. Problem is I now have lots of music in Itunes that is no longer available as original file cannot be found.

Apr 3, 2022 · Run the Surface Diagnostic Toolkit restart the device then check the settings for the Windows Update. Run the System File Checker. Connect the hard drive to your Surface Pro X and format it using the FAT32 file system. If the issue will persists, try to format the hard drive on a different Windows running device and use a FAT32 File System.
