That being said, the way the film was shot doesn’t lend itself to leaps and bounds better video than the 1080p version.

Sure there have been some “fun” stuff like the Resident Evil movies or the 90s Mortal Kombat flick (guilty pleasures as they are), but most of them have been absolute train wrecks ala the 90s Mario Brothers movie, or DTV stuff like The Division.
Nov 4, 2021 · The Blu-ray release of the film was always a 5/5 star encode from the get go, but I was truly floored by the 4K UHD release. It was the first film to shy away from film stock and go all digital, and it is GORGEOUS. Comparing the already great Blu-ray to this is just jaw dropping, as the 2160p encode just wipes the floors with the old encode.

The Blu-ray was notoriously bad, video wise, and the weak master was put on a single BD-25 with Mpeg2 compression.

Jul 13, 2018 · Milla Jovovich is usually fun in this post apocalyptic action flicks (I mean, she was the heart and soul of the Resident Evil series), but I was a bit worried by the trailer. It promised hints of the Van Damme flick Cyborg , with Mad Max , and even some of Logan’s Run thrown in for good measure, but with some choppy editing (for the trailer at least) and a definite DTV flair to it.
