  1. Nov 23, 2020 · Resident Evil: Retribution. Movie: 4K Video: Video: Audio: Extras: Final Score: Movie The Resident Evil series has been getting long in the tooth lately, and feeling more and more stale by the day. This was exemplified in Retribution as it seems Paul W.S. Anderson is content with recycling villains and characters in what constitutes “the best of Resident Evil ”.

  2. Nov 23, 2020 · Rated R for sequences of violence throughout. 4K Video: Video: Resident Evil: The Final Chapter was shot using a 5K sourced digital camera system and finalized with a 4K master. That being said, the way the film was shot doesn’t lend itself to leaps and bounds better video than the 1080p version.

Movie I’m actually surprised that the Resident Evil films haven’t come out on 4K UHD till now. Back in 2017 the 6th film came out on Blu-ray and 4K, but only Resident Evil Afterlife (the 4th film) accompanied it ...

  5. Nov 23, 2020 · Rating: Rated R for non-stop violence, language and some nudity. 4K Video: Video: While Resident Evil had a rather good video score back in Blu-ray, Apocalypse was one of the original Blu-ray films out of the gate and had a very lackluster score. Banding, haloing, and a generally soft and smeary appearance wasn’t helped much by the steely ...

  6. Jul 20, 2023 · The world of video game to screen adaptations have been met with mixed success over the decades. Sure there have been some “fun” stuff like the Resident Evil movies or the 90s Mortal Kombat flick (guilty pleasures as they are), but most of them have been absolute train wrecks ala the 90s Mario Brothers movie, or DTV stuff like The Division.

  7. Nov 4, 2021 · The Blu-ray release of the film was always a 5/5 star encode from the get go, but I was truly floored by the 4K UHD release. It was the first film to shy away from film stock and go all digital, and it is GORGEOUS. Comparing the already great Blu-ray to this is just jaw dropping, as the 2160p encode just wipes the floors with the old encode.

  8. Feb 21, 2018 · Rating: Rated PG-13 for action violence and some sensuality. 4K Video: Video: Interestingly enough, with this re-release from paramount, the Blu-ray is NOT given the shaft like so many re-releases. The Blu-ray was notoriously bad, video wise, and the weak master was put on a single BD-25 with Mpeg2 compression.

  9. Jul 4, 2019 · Rating: Rated R for strong horror violence and gore, disturbing images, and some language. Video: Silent Hill was one of Sony’s VERY first Blu-rays to ever hit the market back in 2006, and like many of those discs, it was a problematic one. The master used may have been in good shape for being a brand new release, but the MPEG2 encoding on a ...

  10. Jul 13, 2018 · Milla Jovovich is usually fun in this post apocalyptic action flicks (I mean, she was the heart and soul of the Resident Evil series), but I was a bit worried by the trailer. It promised hints of the Van Damme flick Cyborg , with Mad Max , and even some of Logan’s Run thrown in for good measure, but with some choppy editing (for the trailer at least) and a definite DTV flair to it.
