I’m doing a college media project on Horror as a genre and chose to write an piece about my favourite special effects artist Rob Bottin and his work on his movies being the most impressive work in movie history and I was just curious what happened to him and if I could get any input or even a word from Bottin himself about his work to help my project pass.

  3. Nov 3, 2018 · Stan Winston, Tom Savini, Rob Bottin — who are the other greats of late ‘70’s to early ‘90’s practical gore effects? Any particular standout films from those others? Don’t quote me on this, but I’d imagine Cronenberg had his own great team, for instance. Recommend

Apr 22, 2017 · Now Rob Bottin this legend of his craft worked on many films over the years like Robocop and Se7en but after Mr. Deeds a generic Adam Sandler comedy in 2002 the man just disappeared, like seriously no one heard of him or even saw him, Until 2014 when he worked on Game of Thrones Season 4 episode 2 "The Lion and the Rose" in an un-credited make up role.We all know what went down in that episode.

  5. Rob Bottin's good. He worked with Verhoven and Carpenter. He did The Thing, The Fog, Robocop, Legend, Total Recall, Star Wars (he played in the cantina band), Se7en and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Rick Baker has an even more impressive back catalogue, perhaps most notably the transformation sequence in American Werewolf in London.

  8. Jun 28, 2004 · Member. Jun 13, 2010 #19. According to Jon Berg (from a Cinefantastique Volume 6 # 4 / Volume 7 # 1 interview): "Someone who should be mentioned is Rob Bottin. He was Rick Baker's assistant and certainly contributed to the Cantina sequence. There was really a neat alien that Rick sculpted.

  10. Nov 1, 2022 · Bottin also worked on the Star Wars Cantina scene creatures.[5] He was, in fact, the tallest player in the Cantina band. If you do the math he was only 18 at the time. Sounds like BS but he started working in the industry when he was 14. Wow.
