As the uncontrollable hybrid runs amok, Symes and the head of security, Hamilton, decide to use a deadly enemy from the recent past to stop the pteracuda; however, in the previous film, Sharktopus (2010), one hybrid monstrosity was enough to wreak havoc on the ocean.
