Stanton is best known for its two water towers, the tanks of which are painted and shaped like a giant coffee pot and coffee cup (billed as "the largest Swedish coffee pot in the world").

History. Stanton began as the convergence of a railroad’s need [to populate its new route from Burlington to Omaha] with the hope of a young Sweden-born pastor to start a new settlement for his fellow immigrants. This pastor, then in Burlington, was born Bengt Magnus Johansson.
