A large theme of the manga is about victim blaming. especially in the first chapter, Tomie is constantly blamed for her own murder. Tomie was groomed by her teacher, potentially pregnant by her fully grown adult teacher at 14, and yet everyone around her, even her closest friend, all decided to kill her and hide her body.

Feb 6, 2023 · Tomie is a "baby" (it's complicated), and a babysitter has to take care of her. But she's locked in the house and she can't escape until she does as she's told. Pretty good setup but it has a very unsatisfying conclusion. Despite a gnarly blood-spraying sequence at the end, this story sits very low on my list.
