Dec 1, 2023 · Introduction. On September 5, 2022, a strong earthquake (M 6.8) occurred in Luding county (29.59 o N, 102.08 o E), Sichuan, China (Fig. 1), with a focal depth of ∼ 16 km. The Luding earthquake caused 93 casualties and a large number of damages to buildings and infrastructure containing roads, communications, water and power supply.
