WP Welcomes Policy Shifts, Calls for Deeper Reforms. News. The Workers’ Party is encouraged to see the policy changes announced by Prime Minister Lawrence Wong in his maiden National Day Rally speech on 18 August 2024.
Objects. 4. (1) To organise and maintain a political party to give effect to the three-fold principle of Merdeka, Parliamentary Democracy and Socialism. (2) To prevent the exploitation of Singapore and its people. (3) To protect and defend Singapore’s sovereignty and independence.
Keeping up with changes in society, Workers’ Party has again, since after 2001, undergone another important phase. With more post-65ers joining the party and participating actively, the party is rejuvenated with new ideas and renewed energy.
Mr Speaker, My speech today will focus on strengthening workers' rights in Singapore, particularly with regard to trade unions, Platform Work Associations (PWAs), and the representation framework for ride-hailing and delivery service workers introduced in the Platform Workers Bill.
