Sep 30, 2024 · Lörrach is located in the Wiese valley in the extreme southwest of the Black Forest, near the Swiss border at Basle. Rötteln Castle is one of the largest fortresses in south Baden.
Map of Lörrach. There are train services from the central station every half hour to Basel (leaving at one minute past the hour and half hour). Trains can also be used to get to the southern suburb of Stetten or the northwestern suburb of Steinen.
Lörrach is found in southwestern Germany near the borders with France and Switzerland. Ancient writings first mention the town as a settlement in 1102. The Rötteln Castle stands guard on a hill overlooking the town and is at least as old as the town itself.
