The Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA) is the regulatory and developmental agency for the early childhood sector in Singapore and oversees key aspects of children’s development below the age of seven across both kindergartens and child care centres.
The Early Years Development Framework (EYDF) Educarers’ Guide (EG) comprises good suggested practices, activities and tips on child development for the early years. Theories behind the suggested practices and their relevance in supporting the development of children from birth to three years, are also included.
To be certified as an educator in kindergartens and childcare centres in Singapore, you must meet the professional, academic and language requirements 1 of the respective certi fication category. The educator certification levels indicate the age group of children you can be deployed to teach.
