Human trafficking and the prostitution of children has been a significant issue in the Philippines, often controlled by organized crime syndicates. Human trafficking is a crime against humanity. With the Philippines having a large migrant population, the men are used for fishing, construction, and farming.
Trafficking in human beings usually involve illicit practices such as recruitment by mala fide recruitment agencies, abduction/kidnapping, 1 and leaving the country through the “Southern Backdoor” with no legitimate documentation.
