Greywater (or grey water, sullage, also spelled gray water in the United States) refers to domestic wastewater generated in households or office buildings from streams without fecal contamination, i.e., all streams except for the wastewater from toilets.
Greywater is described as gently used wastewater that comes from sources such as the bathroom, kitchen, and laundry. It is relatively clean and cannot be compared with the water from toilets (blackwater). Generally, any water drained from the house besides toilet water can be described as greywater.
