Synopsis. The movie opens up with credits while we hear Trevor Reznik ( Christian Bale) grappling with something large and heavy. He drives his truck near a dam and would appear to have a body wrapped in a carpet to dispose of. He panics when someone starts to come closer, holding a flashlight. He pushes the carpet down and it starts to unroll.
Nov 18, 2004 · Christian Bale lost more than 60 pounds to play this role, a fact I share not because you need to know how much weight he lost, but because you need to know that it is indeed Christian Bale. He is so gaunt, his face so hollow, he looks nothing like the actor we're familiar with.
And frankly, Christian Bale's horrifying transformation in this contemporary Gothic chiller makes De Niro look like an uncommitted wuss.
