BenDeLaCreme started off with a completely different drag name. She has previously performed under the name Teena Angst. Eventually she changed it to BenDeLaCreme. The name combines her real name, Ben, and is a play on the phrase "Creme De La Creme," which means, "best of the best."[citation needed]
