Crypt of Chico Marx. Chico died of arteriosclerosis at the age of 74 on October 11, 1961, at his Hollywood home. [1] He was the eldest brother and the first to die. [2] He was survived by his second wife Mary and daughter Maxine (from his first marriage to Betty Karp).
