"Distraction" in the phrase "driven to distraction" means mental distress or derangement (Random House) or mental turmoil or madness (Collins); so I think you can be driven to distraction by a job. You could even, I suppose, be driven to distraction by the fact that the job was excruciatingly boring.

The first one should be "if this does...", because the third person present tense of "to do" is "does". When you use "to do", only this auxiliary verb changes - the main verb stays in the infinitive. So "made" is incorrect in any tense.
