Du Yuming (Chinese: 杜聿明; pinyin: Dù Yùmíng; Wade–Giles: Tu Yü-ming; 28 November 1904 – 7 May 1981) was a Kuomintang field commander. He was a graduate of the first class of Whampoa Academy, took part in Chiang's Northern Expedition, and was active in southern China and in the Burma theatre of the Sino-Japanese War.

Tu Yü-ming (1903-), Whampoa graduate who was one of Chiang Kai-shek's favorite commanders. In 1945 he helped strengthen Nationalist control of Yunnan by ousting Lung Yun (q.v.). In the civil war with the Chinese Communists he served in Manchuria and at Hsuchow in the decisive Hwai-Hai battle.

As one of the ablest strategists in the ROC army, Du Yuming came up with three different options for the current hopeless situation: first, recall the ROC troops in Xi'an and Wuhan to battle the communists; second, to wait for reinforcements; and the third was to break out on their own.
Tu Yu-ming (Du Yuming) commanded the Kuomintang 5 Army in December 1941. Stilwell initial considered him "Solid on tactics. Ready to fight." Instead, he proved to be a vacillating and sulky commander with the warlord mentality.
