Gennadi Leonidovich Vasilyev (Russian: Геннадий Леонидович Васильев; 31 August 1940 — 21 October 1999) was a Russian film director. [1] He is best known for his film Finist, the brave Falcon (1975).
English. I was born in Anatkasy, a village in the Komsomolsk district, Chuvash Republic, as the son of a farmer and a veterinarian. I grew up in the post-war years when there were food shortages. My two brothers and I helped our parents a lot. We worked at the collective farm, helped at home, and gathered firewood. Life was not easy.
Gennadiy Vasilev was born on 31 August 1940 in Mikhaylovka, Mikhaylovskiy rayon, Ussuriyskaya oblast, Primorskiy kray, RSFSR, USSR [now Russia]. He was a director and writer, known for Ajooba (1990), Tsar Ivan Groznyy (1991) and Vasiliy Buslaev (1983).
