Jul 11, 2024 · About MIFF. MIFF is an independent not-for-profit organisation that has been continuously running since 1952, making it the premier film festival in Australia and one of the world’s oldest film festivals, alongside Cannes and Berlin.
Currently held in the month of August from 8th to 25th in 2024 and spanning events in the Melbourne CBD as well as inner-suburban and regional Victoria, MIFF screens films from both Australia and across the world to an audience of approximately 150,000. [1] .

Across Victoria, the festival will deliver hotly-anticipated Cannes titles, festival circuit favourites, World Premiere arrivals and a bounty of local releases to the film-loving city of Melbourne and beyond.
