Dec 23, 2023 · Out of all the nuGNR era guys, I always really liked Fortus the best I think. He has the chops and the ability to just lay it down rhythmically, and having that sort of sweet spot of being able to do the Chinese-era shred stuff but also the blues rock elements to fit with the old stuff too

Sep 19, 2018 · When the messiah gives such high praise it must be hard to swallow for all those who suggested Slash didn't like Fortus, or for those that said Fortus's style didn't suit GNR. Ah, it's days like this that make the last 2 years of whinging (from both sides) worthwhile.
Mar 13, 2013 · Richard Fortus is the best guitarist they have. Ashba is all looks, and I guess you either love or don't care about Bumblefoot. I'm the latter. Fortus plays excellent guitar, has great energy, and all around just seems like a good guy. If he were to get fired, then you nearly have no people I care about in New GNR.

Feb 11, 2023 · Richard was no fan (and was "vehemently opposed" to the scene from where GN'R originated), but is a great guy for the band live and possibly also in the studio. Bumblefoot was a fan of the band, very good at playing the songs live, but most fans seem to not appreciate what he did in the studio (to be fair to Bumble, he didn't have much time to work on the parts that were recorded).
