Will Sergeant is best known as the guitarist for Echo and the Bunnymen, but fans of that group shouldn't go looking for this LP expecting a familiar-sounding spinoff. Themes for GRIND has no vocals and none of Echo and the Bunnymen's trademark hooks.

Sergeant has put many layers into his sound and the songs evolve and morph as opposed to repeating themes. His whole body of work is very diverse. Soothing without being boring.
His first formal solo album, Themes for Grind, was released in 1982, while still active with Echo & the Bunnymen, and reached number 6 on the Indie album chart. [3] [4] Performing in 2007 at the Summer Sundae festival.
