UWC Adriatic is the first UWC to be set up in a non-English speaking country. It offers a UWC education with an immersive Italian experience, a music academy, and a village setting in the heart of Europe.
UWC Adriatic is a two-year pre-university school in Italy that offers the International Baccalaureate and a values-based education. It welcomes students from over 80 countries who are selected for their diversity and potential to make a positive impact in the world.
UWC Adriatic is open to students of all nationalities who are looking for a pre-university education in a multi-cultural, values-based environment. To be admitted to a UWC, a young person must successfully undergo a selection process based solely on merit and potential.
UWC Adriatic offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP) curriculum. Alongside standard courses, the College offers Arabic, Slovene, Serbian, Croatian and Bosnian, World Arts and Cultures, Environmental Systems, and Art.
Established in 1982, UWC Adriatic is the first UWC to be set up in a non-English speaking country. The College is located on an open campus in the picturesque coastal village of Duino, just a few kilometres from the border with Slovenia in a region that is a meeting place of Germanic, Latin and Slav cultures.
