Akihabara (秋葉原), also called Akiba after a former local shrine, is a district in central Tokyo that is famous for its many electronics shops and has also gained recognition as the center of Japan's otaku (diehard fan) culture.
Whatever electronic or computer device you are looking for, you'll find it at one of the numerous stores in this always crowded area also known as 'Denki (Electric) Town'. Akihabara has also become the center of 'otaku' culture (Japanese anime and manga), so some shops are a bit naughty.
