Jun 24, 2022 · At this time, those ads cannot be removed (short of paying for office 365 so you get ad-free outlook). Microsoft is experimenting on ads. If you trash it, I t should be about 3 minutes before a new ad comes up. (I've learned to ignore it for this reason.)
