Charles Michel (French: [ʃaʁl mi'ʃɛl]; born 21 December 1975) is a Belgian politician serving as the president of the European Council since 2019. He previously served as the prime minister of Belgium between 2014 and 2019.
On 24 March 2022, EU leaders re-elected Charles Michel as President of the European Council for a second term of two and a half years, from 1 June 2022 to 30 November 2024. Charles Michel is the third President of the European Council.
