It is Mortal Kombat 8, it’s a mainline MK fighting game. Is it canon? Not to the old or new timelines; rather, it occurs in its own continuum. They do like to make references to the game when they release characters from the different franchises as downloadable content, but the game itself is a standalone crossover.
Several things: mk is the best selling fighting game out there and has probably the highest budget as well. And the quality is pretty bad compared to other fighting games with a much smaller budget. It launched with a lot of Bugs and glitches. We have desynch issues in kl for over a month now. Balacing is kinda meh.
