    McDonnell Douglas MD-80. The Boeing 717 is an American five-abreast narrow-body airliner produced by Boeing Commercial Airplanes. The twin-engine airliner was developed for the 100-seat market and originally marketed by McDonnell Douglas in the early 1990s as the MD-95 until the company merged with Boeing in August 1997.

    717-100X Lite

    Another variant of the 717 that was never produced is the 300X. This model started as the MD-95-50 and was to be a stretch version of the original with 24 additional seats in a two-class configuration, bringing the total number to 130.
