As of the 2020 United States census, the borough's population was 5,907, an increase of 113 (+2.0%) from the 2010 census count of 5,794, which in turn reflected a decline of 251 (−4.2%) from the 6,045 counted in the 2000 census.

I walked on the Belmar NJ boardwalk many times during August 2020. It is about two miles long so a round trip is four miles. To the north end is a bridge between Belmar and Avon by the Sea and the Belmar fishing pier. In the middle is the Taylor Pavilion and Cruz Bay Cafe as well as Silver Lake.
