  2. Birdland is a jazz club started in New York City on December 15, 1949. The original Birdland, which was located at 1678 Broadway , just north of West 52nd Street in Manhattan , [ 1 ] was closed in 1965 due to increased rents, but it re-opened for one night in 1979. [ 1 ]

  6. Birdland is a decent sized jazz club and we had a table at the front to the left of the stage, the view and acoustics were superb. The waitress was friendly and attentive and we felt as though we had experienced fantastic hospitality until we read our credit card balance the following day.
